Victoria, B.C., journalist Andrew MacLeod has been named a finalist for the 2016 George Ryga Award for social awareness in literature for A Better Place on Earth: The Search for Fairness in Super Unequal British Columbia (Harbour Publishing).
The book investigates the causes of – and potential solutions to – the province’s growing rate of inequality based on taxation, benefits, and other public policy.
The $2,500 prize will be presented at the Vancouver Public Library on June 29.
