Pajama Press, Inc. Seeks Marketing Specialist
Pajama Press is seeing an experienced marketing professional who is passionate about children’s books.
Pajama Press is a tightly knit team of book lovers who are committed to excellence. We produce a variety of titles for ages 0–12+, as well as new-format reprints. The marketing specialist will be responsible for ensuring those titles are under the eye of reviewers, sales representatives, award juries, the media, and the public at the appropriate times.
The ideal candidate will have confidence and skill pitching books in person, on screen, over the phone, and in writing. They will have experience with managing online cataloguing systems, including CataList, Bookmanager, and Edelweiss+; with Amazon Vendor Central; and with a range of social media platforms. Comfort with learning new online systems and user interfaces is essential, as the digital tools for book marketing are always evolving. Familiarity with basic XHTML and the metadata platforms BooksoniX and CoreSource are a plus.
Responsibilities will include: mailings to awards, reviewers, and sales reps; updating social media accounts; disseminating reviews; writing press releases; supporting authors and illustrators in their publicity and marketing initiatives, including book launches; assisting with the preparation of title information sheets; preparing for and exhibiting at conferences; presenting at sales meetings; maintaining CataList, Bookmanager, and Edelweiss catalogues; and updating metadata as needed.
The Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Publisher to create, execute, and adapt marketing strategies, innovating as the market shifts.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
