Dundurn Press is growing its sales and marketing team and we are looking for an energetic and engaged Publicist to join our team. Do you enjoy working with authors and finding the best ways to help promote their books? Are you a confident self-starter who can hit the ground running with enthusiasm and creativity?   • Manage and maintain communications and working relationships with our active authors
  • Pitch to broadcast, print, and online media in Canada and the US as well as festival organizers;
  • Identify publicity and promotional opportunities for our titles and authors with media, festivals, and events;
  • Maintain and manage focused media mailing lists and review copy requests;
  • Execute publicity campaigns;
  • Manage and track trade and review journal submissions;
  • Create and edit press releases, media alerts, and assemble press kit materials;
  • Actively research and maintain relationships with media outlets;
  • Aid with event management, scheduling and author signings;
  • Assist authors with media appearances when necessary;
  • Contribute and help coordinate content with the sales and marketing team for Dundurn Press’s social media platforms and newsletters;
  • Act as a representative of the company at author events, as well as industry functions as needed;
  • Working with the company as a whole to provide support and expertise as required

This is a hybrid role that will include between one and two (1-2) days per week as needed at Dundurn Press’s Leslieville office.

This is a full time position with a benefits package available following a successful probationary period. Annual salary starts at $35,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.
