Dundurn, a leading independent Canadian publisher located in Toronto, is seeking a Sales Coordinator to build Dundurn sales, streamline processes, and ensure our metadata is working as best it can. The ideal candidate should have a palpable love of books, communicate with ease, and enjoy presenting. They must also be detail oriented and organized and have the ability to problem solve, switch tasks quickly, and manage multiple deadlines.



  • Put together title pitches and present key titles at sales conferences
  • Work with the commissioned sales forces, including Ampersand Inc. and Ingram Publisher Services
  • Manage key accounts, such as Indigo and amazon.ca
  • Help determine sales targets and track progress
  • Grow revenue from international and domestic rights
  • Seek out and build new sales channels and/or accounts
  • Manage special sales including thematic sales, author leads, and trade shows


  • Manage metadata
  • Troubleshoot metadata issues with aggregators and accounts
  • Manage evolution of metadata standards and best practices
  • Develop in-house BooksoniX guidelines/style guide to ensure staff are able to maintain metadata integrity


  • Liaise with Dundurn’s distributor, UTP
  • Track inventory in Canada, the US, and the UK
  • Oversee book orders for events and special sales, and track author orders
  • Provide production with sales expectations and pre-order numbers to help determine print and reprint amounts

In addition

  • Daily, monthly, title-by-title, and category sales analysis, which will help inform publishing decisions
  • Fielding of author queries and requests



  • Post-secondary degree
  • Three years + publishing experience
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with Onix systems and web-based project management systems
  • Awareness of sales and cataloguing systems such as BNC SalesData, Edelweiss, and Catalist
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
