Description

Inhabit Media is a trade publishing company with offices located in Iqaluit, Nunavut and Toronto, Ontario. Our aim is to preserve and promote the stories, knowledge and talent of Inuit and northern Canada.

We are seeking a Sales Manager for a full-time position. This position will manage the Canadian sales of Inhabit Media titles and our client publishers (Arvaaq Press, Nunavut Arctic College Media, and Eye of Newt Books).

We’re looking for an individual who’s driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about books. The ideal candidate must possess strong critical thinking skills, an unerring eye for sales numbers and reports, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate is expected to be in office from Monday-Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales & Distribution
  • Manage and grow Canadian sales, including but not limited to: direct sales to key accounts including Indigo and Amazon, educational and institutional sales; establishing terms and policies; processing orders, returns, and general inquiries from retail/wholesale customers.
  • Plan and represent the company at trade shows and conferences.
  • Manage large-scale bulk or overstock order projects for partners organizations and clients.
  • Stock reports and management
  • Act as point person for sales reps, ensuring that they have all materials and information required to sell titles to accounts.
  • Sales reporting and analysis.
  • Analyze sales data of comparative backlist titles to generate forecasts and recommendations for initial print runs of new titles.
  • Administrative tasks as required.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or publishing industry experience.
  • Experience with Indigo, Amazon, and/or HiPoint an asset.
  • Requires a sales focus and customer-centric approach.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong computer skills; intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Booknet, Catalist and Bookmanager an asset.
  • Ability to travel.
