Scholastic Canada’s dynamic Trade marketing department is seeking the perfect candidate for a position that is all about data and spreadsheet maintenance and a passion for accuracy and detail. The Marketing Operations and Digital Assets Coordinator will be responsible for numerous behind-the-scenes details for our books and promotional items.

Scholastic Canada is the country's leading publisher and distributor of children's books in both official languages. For over 60 years, Scholastic Canada has introduced young people to the joy of reading with books from leading brands and authors including Robert Munsch, Dav Pilkey and J.K. Rowling.

ROLE SUMMARY

WORK LOCATION: This position would normally work out of our Toronto downtown office located at 604 King St. West. While staff are still currently working remotely due to the pandemic, we are looking to resume in-office operations in the future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing and ensuring accuracy of metadata details for Scholastic Canada’s trade titles
  • Creation and maintenance of digital catalogues
  • Ensuring data is accurately submitted to key accounts
  • Staying on top of and communicating changes to publication dates, prices, covers, etc.;
  • Ordering of promotional items such as displays and marketing materials, working with the marketing, creative services and production teams in both our Canadian and U.S. office
  • Maintaining and monitoring display and marketing materials inventory
  • Actively participate in internal sales conferences and sales strategy meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of experience in the publishing industry
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a passion for process and problem-solving
  • An ability to work autonomously, but also capable of liaising with stakeholders from various departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
  • At ease working in (or learning to work in) various data management software tools
  • Familiarity with Booknet Canada, Book Manager and ONIX is preferred
