Long established Markham book publisher/distributor looking for an energetic, self-starting individual to manage and improve warehouse operations, inventory control, receiving, shipping functions within the company.

 Duties will include:

  • managing a full time staff of 15 and responsible for recruiting/terminating, performance assessment, compensation, training and development of all warehouse staff as required
  • attention to overhead forecasts and monitoring additional warehouse labour costs
  • scheduling and monitoring of receipts, customer returns, and outgoing order flow
  • suggest and implement mechanisms to track and assess effectiveness and productivity of warehouse staff
  • responsible for maintenance and currency of all required equipment operator training/certification
  • participation in weekly management team meetings sharing information and contributing to overall strategy development and achievement of goals
  • responsible for compliance with all health and safety regulations and practices throughout the warehouse

Skills include:

  • solid leadership ability
  • personal participation in tasks when additional help is required
  • strong computer skills
  • minimum 5 years of warehouse management experience
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • proven ability to implement new processes and supply chain improvement initiatives
  • strong decision making and problem solving skills


  • annual salary $60,000
  • performance bonus based on operational metrics goals
