4. While I liked the direction the previous two covers took, I thought it was important to make a few attempts to tie travel and Italy into the design a bit more. Given the title of the book, I figured I should attempt one with an actual knife on the cover. For this particular iteration, I turned the Leaning Tower of Pisa into a jackknife and overlaid it on an Italian flag with the Italy-shaped bloodstain I had become so fond of.
