Robertson Davies gets own park

CanLit superstar Robertson Davies, who died in 1995, had a Toronto park officially named after him this week, The Globe and Mail reports. Robertson Davies Park is located on Avenue Road, not far from the University of Toronto, where Davies was the longtime master of Massey College, and from Avenue and Cottingham, where Davies lived in a condo for 15 years. So far, though, there’s not much going on at the park – the Globe describes it as “a non-descript expanse of grass bordered by train tracks,” while noting that it may be developed more in the future. Perhaps a World of Wonders concession stand, or free Manticore rides for the kids?
