With the passing of the baton to Spain on Sunday and closing its unprecedented two years as the guest of honour country at the Frankfurt Book Fair on a high note, the Canada FBM2021 organizing team returns home triumphant.
Canada takes the spotlight this week as guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair, creating the first hybrid pavilion and bringing a star-studded lineup of authors.
Virtual programming will be prioritized as Canada prepares for its guest of honour role at the Frankfurt Book Fair this October.
On Oct. 17, Frankfurt’s Bookfest Digital will feature an array of international literary talent, including several Canadian authors.
The centrepiece of the programming will be four “literary mini-documentaries.”
The fair will be held online October 12–18.
Canada FBM2020 is now discouraging Canadians from physically attending the pivotal October book fair in 2020.
Nearly one-quarter of the events were able to happen before the global shutdowns, including a Stan Douglas exhibition.
Canada is currently in talks with the next three Guest of Honour countries to discuss their interest in a possible postponement.
