Penguin Random House Canada has revealed the North American title and book jacket for the fourth instalment in Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series, written by Swedish author David Lagercrantz. The novel will appear Aug. 27 in more than 35 countries.
Lagercrantz was selected by Larsson’s estate and Swedish publisher, Norstedts, to continue the series after Larsson’s untimely death in 2004. The original trilogy – comprising The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest – has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide, 2.5 million of them in Canada, and inspired the well-known film franchise by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The cover for The Girl in the Spider’s Web was designed by art director Peter Mendelsund, responsible for the iconic jackets of the previous books in the series.
Penguin Random House Canada publisher Nicole Winstanley says in a press release:
Stieg Larsson’s bewitching and masterful Millennium series grabbed millions of Canadian readers by their throats and took them on a harrowing, unforgettable ride through darkness and depravity. As both a publisher and a fan, I’m tremendously excited to see this series live on in the capable hands of one of Europe’s most acclaimed authors.
