Susan Juby to serve as Whistler writer-in-residence

unnamedNanaimo, B.C.-based YA author Susan Juby is relocating to Whistler this fall to serve as a writer-in-residence and participate in the Whister Writers Festival, which runs from Oct. 13–16.

The program, launched by the festival and the Whistler Writing Society, connects emerging writers with established homegrown authors for learning and mentorship opportunities in both one-on-one and group settings.

Juby says in a press release:

Mentorship is a critical component of the writing process, and I’m looking forward to spending extended time with the program participants to explore their manuscripts, as well as discuss themes like point of view, dialogue and characterization. I’m a long-time supporter of the Whistler Writers Festival, which provides a truly rare, intimate atmosphere for writers and readers to mingle and share their passion for books and writing.
