Diane Warren, Allan Casey win GG awards

The Canada Council for the Arts has announced the winners of the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Awards, each of whom receives $25,000. The winners, in both English and French, are:

Fiction:

  • Dianne Warren, Cool Water (HarperCollins Canada)
  • Kim Thúy, Ru (Éditions Libre Expression)

Non-fiction:

  • Allan Casey, Lakeland: Journeys into the Soul of Canada (Greystone Books)
  • Michel Lavoie, C’est ma seigneurie que je réclame: la lutte des Hurons de Lorette pour la seigneurie de Sillery, 1650-1900 (Les Éditions du Boréal)

Poetry:

  • Richard Greene, Boxing the Compass (Véhicule Press)

Drama:
