Quebec Writers’ Federation reveals literary shortlists

The Quebec Writers Federation has announced the shortlists for its 15th annual literary awards. The winners will be revealed at a gala in Montreal on Nov. 19.

This year’s finalists are:

A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry

  • Mia Anderson, The Sunrise Liturgy: A Poem Sequence (Wipf and Stock Publishers)
  • Peter Dubé, Conjure (Rebel Satori Press)
  • Ken Howe, The Civic-Mindedness of Trees (Wolsak and Wynn)

Mavis Gallant Prize for Non-fiction

  • Maximilian Forte, Slouching Towards Sirte (Baraka Books)
  • Adam Leith Gollner, The Book of Immortality (Doubleday Canada)
  • Shelagh Plunkett, The Water Here Is Never Blue (Viking Canada)

Concordia University First Book Prize

  • Connie Guzzo-McParland, The Girls of Piazza d’Amore (Linda Leith Publishing)
