Dundurn author E.R. Brown nominated for an Edgar Award

Vancouver author E.R. Brown is nominated for an Edgar Award for Almost Criminal, about a high school graduate who becomes involved in a B.C. grow-op (which itself has become involved with a local biker gang).  The 205-year-old awards for best mystery fiction, non-fiction, and television is presented annually by the Mystery Writers of America.

Brown’s debut novel, published by Dundurn Press in April 2013, is nominated in the Best Paperback Original category alongside the venerated Stephen King for Joyland. The winners will be announced at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City on May 1.

Almost Criminal also made the longlist for the Arthur Ellis Award, announced in February. The shortlist will be announced on April 24.
