Miriam Toews’ novel All My Puny Sorrows (Knopf Canada) is one of six titles shortlisted for the U.K.’s Wellcome Book Prize. The £30,000 award highlights fiction and non-fiction titles that “engages with some aspect of medicine, health, or illness.”

The winner will be chosen by a five-member jury that includes authors Mark Haddon and Bill Bryson.
