Jillian Tamaki, D&Q editors among Canadians nominated for 2015 Ignatz Awards

The Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland, has announced the nominees for its annual Ignatz Awards, which recognize excellence in independent comics – and 12 Canadians have made the list.

The nominees in nine categories were selected by a panel of five expert cartoonists, which this year included Lamar Abrams, Cara Bean, Robyn Chapman, Sophie Goldtein, and Corrine Mucha. The winners will be selected by SPX attendees.

Voting will take place at the expo on Sept. 19, with the winners announced at a ceremony later that evening.

The Canadian nominees are as follows:

Outstanding artist

Outstanding anthology or collection
