Lissa Wolsak, of Vancouver, was named the winner of this year’s bpNichol Chapbook Award for her poetry chapbook Of Beings Alone: The Eigenface (Nomados Press). The winning book was selected by judges Alice Burdick and Karl Jirgens from a six-book shortlist, culled from 68 national submissions.
Wolsak was honoured with the $4,000 award at Meet the Presses collective’s Indie Literary Market – a public event for independent literary publishers and authors – at Toronto’s Tranzac Club on Nov. 14. Nomados Press received a $500 prize for the win.
