B.C. poet Wayde Compton has been named the winner of this year’s City of Vancouver Book Award for his debut short-story collection, The Outer Harbour (Arsenal Pulp Press).
The award, part of the Mayor’s Arts Awards, recognizes an excellent work of any genre evocative of the city, its history, and its residents. Compton was presented with his $3,000 prize during a ceremony on Nov. 12. This is his first literary award.
