The University of British Columbia and B.C. BookWorld have announced the shortlist for this year’s Basil Stuart-Stubbs Prize for scholarly B.C.-focused books:

• Lisa Pasolli, Working Mothers and the Child Care Dilemma: A History of British Columbia’s Social Policy (UBC Press)
• John Thistle, Resettling the Range: Animals, Ecologies, and Human Communities in British Columbia (UBC Press)
• Maria Tippett, Made in British Columbia: Eight Ways of Making Culture (Harbour Publishing)

The winner of the $1,000 prize will be announced at a reception at UBC in June.
