2016 Toronto Book Awards judges announced

The judges of this year’s Toronto Book Awards‚ honouring the best titles evocative of the city and its culture‚ have been announced. Selecting this year’s finalists and‚ ultimately‚ winner are Irfan Ali, RBC Bronwen Wallace Award finalist; Ann Jansen, CBC Books producer and Canada Reads co-ordinator; Kilby Smith-McGregor, RBC Bronwen Wallace Award-winning writer and graphic designer, and Conan Tobias, Quill & Quire senior editor and editor-in-chief of literary-arts magazine Taddle Creek.

A shortlist of five authors‚ each the recipient of a $1‚000 purse‚ will be announced Aug. 25. The winner of the $10‚000 prize will be named on Oct. 11.
