2018 RBC Taylor Prize Jury announced

Anne Giardini

The three-member jury for next year’s RBC Taylor Prize, honouring the country’s best non-fiction titles, has been named.

Judging the award will be Christine Elliott, an Ontario patient ombudsman, lawyer, and former Progressive Conservative MPP; Anne Giardini, an author, Simon Fraser University chancellor, former Vancouver International Writers Festival chair, and former board member for the Writers’ Trust of Canada and PEN Canada; and James Polk, a pianist, author, and former editorial director of House of Anansi Press, as well as adviser for the Ontario Ministry of Culture.

The longlisted titles for this year’s Taylor Prize will be revealed on Dec. 6, and the finalists, on Jan. 10. The $30,000 award will be presented at a gala luncheon in Toronto on Feb. 26.
