This year’s Canada Reads longlist is dominated by recent award honorees and bestsellers, including Omar El Akkad’s American War and Tanya Talaga’s Seven Fallen Feathers.

Fifteen titles were selected that speak to the theme “One Book to Open Your Eyes.” The panellists and five shortlisted books will be announced Jan. 30. The debates will take place on CBC Radio from March 26–29.
