CBC Radio’s Gill Deacon is taking over from Wab Kinew as host of this year’s Canada Reads, which takes place March 21 to 24.

Kinew left the literary competition to run in the upcoming Manitoba provincial election.

Deacon, who hosts the CBC show Here and Now, is no stranger to the Canadian books community. The author of four non-fiction titles, she currently sits as a board member for the Writers’ Trust of Canada.
