World Literacy of Canada to launch Shooting Water

World Literacy of Canada recently announced that its fourth annual Eyes on India film series and book launch will be a special tribute to filmmaker Deepa Mehta. The event, taking place October 25 and 26 in Toronto, will feature screenings of her controversial and award-winning “Elements Trilogy,” Fire, Earth, and Water, as well as a launch of Shooting Water, a book by her daughter, Devyani Saltzman, about Saltzman’s reunion with her mother while both were in India for the shooting of Water and the actions of Hindu protesters that forced the Toronto-based Mehta to abandon filming in India. All proceeds of this event support World Literacy of Canada’s education and community development programs for families in Canada and around the world.
