Key Porter in crisis

Yesterday afternoon, the staff of Key Porter Books were informed that the company would be drastically downscaling. According to a report in the National Post, 15 staffers were laid off, and a smaller, unspecified number were transferred to the offices of parent company H.B. Fenn and Company in Bolton, Ontario.

“Business has been very challenging right across the board for all publishers right now. There was concern. But it was a shock that it happened today, and a shock that it was so abrupt, said Paula Sloss, who was in charge of special and corporate sales before being laid off on Wednesday.
