Giller Prize broadcast moves to CBC

Could 2010 Giller judge Michael Enright be this year's host?

The Scotiabank Giller Prize ceremony broadcast will return to CBC this November, after five years on CTV.

We are delighted to call the CBC home again. We consider this a perfect partnership, especially with the network’s extraordinary commitment to Canadian literary programming, said Giller Prize founder Jack Rabinovitch, in a press release.

Under the agreement, effective until 2015, CBC will televise the Giller Prize gala with possible use on other CBC platforms including CBC Radio, cbc.ca, and other specialty channels.

No word yet as to whether a CBC celebrity ” Michael Enright, Shelagh Rogers, and Eleanor Wachtel are obvious choices ” will host the black-tie event, which takes place Nov. 8 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto.
