Giller Prize winner Johanna Skibsrud signs two-book deal with Penguin Canada

Hamish Hamilton Canada, the literary imprint of Penguin Canada, has announced it has acquired the next two books from Scotiabank Giller Prize winner Johanna Skibsrud.

The untitled collection of stories and novel were acquired by publisher Nicole Winstanley and executive editor Nick Garrison in a heated auction from agent Tracy Bohan of The Wylie Agency.

In the announcement, Winstanley, who will edit both books, says, “It is a great honour to have Johanna Skibsrud on the Hamish Hamilton Canada list. Readers will recognize the wisdom and lyricism of The Sentimentalists in her stories and will also be wonderfully surprised by the different tones, insights, and settings.”
