Steinbach, Manitoba“born Miriam Toews, author of the Governor General’s Literary Award“winning A Complicated Kindness and the newly released Irma Voth, is one of 12 people receiving the Order of Manitoba this year.

Presented by lieutenant-governor Philip S. Lee, the province’s highest order recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour, benefiting in an outstanding manner the social, cultural or economic well-being of Manitoba and its residents.

The award will be presented on July 12.
