Agnes Tomasov and Marian Domanski tie for silver at the Independent Publisher Book Awards

Toronto writers Agnes Tomasov and Marian Domanski have won silver medals for their Holocaust memoirs at the 2011 Independent Publisher Book Awards. The IPPY Awards are a “non-affiliated awards program open to all members of the independent publishing industry, and are open to authors and publishers worldwide who produce books written in English and intended for the North American market.”

Tomasov’s From Generation to Generation and Domanski’s Fleeing from the Hunter tied for second place in the autobiography/ memoir category. The two books were published by the Azrieli Foundation as part of its Holocaust Survivor Memoirs series.

The two medalists will be honoured at an awards ceremony on May 23 in New York.
