Ninja Cowboy Bear heads to Japan for children affected by the tsunami

In an effort to help children affected by last March’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan, on July 15, representatives from the Canadian embassy will read from The Legend of Ninja Cowboy Bear (Kids Can Press) at three Sendai schools. One of the schools, Shiogama Catholic Kindergarten, was where Father André Lachapelle, the only Canadian victim of the tsunami, was teaching before he was killed.

Kids Can has already donated 120 copies, and now Ninja Cowboy Bear series author David Bruins and illustrator Hilary Leung are looking for donations to send more copies to the kids who will be attending the readings. Donation information is available on the NCB website.
