Kobo Writing Life goes live

Kobo’s self-publishing platform, Writing Life, went live today. Kobo began working on the service last fall, and launched it at BookExpo America in June.

The service is open to small publishers and authors with digital rights to their content. Manuscripts can uploaded in a variety of formats, including MS Word, Open Office, and Kindle formats, and converted to ePub format for a fee.

can be uploaded and converted into ebooks for Kobo to sell in their bookstores internationally. The company charges a fee for converting an author’s content to ePub, but it is free to distribute ebooks with Kobo once they’re converted.
