In anticipation of the Sept. 5 publication of B.C.-born author Patrick deWitt’s third novel, Undermajordomo Minor, House of Anansi Press, Ecco U.S., and Granta U.K. have revealed the book’s trailer.
A marriage of work by L.A.-based artist Joanna Neborsky and deWitt’s brother, Nick – who worked together to create the trailer for Sisters Brothers, deWitt’s Governor General’s Literary Award–winning novel – the video features cut paper collage complemented by harpsichord music.
Described as an “ink-black comedy,” the story follows misfit Lucien Minor as he accepts a job as undermajordomo at the foreboding, secret-filled Castle Von Aux.
