Toronto’s Kids Can Press has announced the sale of more than 100,000 copies of B.C.-based picture-book author Ashley Spires’ The Most Magnificent Thing since the title’s publication in April 2014.

The inspirational story follows a young girl who learns through a project that sometimes things don’t have to be perfect to be great. The book has been published in seven languages and was featured on several best books of 2014 lists.

The press cites its innovative “book hack” marketing campaign and book tour, which urged readers to create something unique with their promotional copy of the title, as one of the keys to The Most Magnificent Thing‘s success. Spires’ North American tour continues in 2016.
