Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff receive 2016 National Business Book Award

jacquieJacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff‘s insider examination of the BlackBerry enterprise, Losing the Signal: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of BlackBerry (HarperCollins Canada), has won the journalists this year’s $30,000 National Business Book Award. The duo received their award at a luncheon in Toronto on April 21.

The title was shortlisted for the Financial Times Business Book Award last fall.

Tahir Ayub, managing partner of markets and industries at PwC Canada, the award’s co-sponsor, said in a release: “There are many insights for Canadian business in Losing the Signal. Many of the challenges that make up the narrative of the book including early-stage financing, the stress of rapid growth, the imperative for high standards of corporate governance and the discipline of professional management, are common in companies looking to set themselves on a path for growth.”
