Lauded Quebec illustrator François Thisdale provides the visuals to complement veteran author Carolyn Beck’s text in That Squeak, published by Fitzhenry & Whiteside. The book tells the story of a pair of best friends who bond over a summer full of bike rides. When one dies, the other finds comfort – and a new friendship – through his forgotten bike. Pajama Press will release In a Cloud of Dust by Alma Fullerton, with illustrations by Brian Deines, in which a young Tanzanian girl misses her chance at a free bike, but finds generosity nonetheless.
