Twenty B.C. storybook characters have come to life, thanks to a new recognition project helmed by the Vancouver Public Library and the Society of B.C. Children’s Writers and Illustrators.

The Reading Lights program consists of plaques mounted near parks, schools, and other kid-friendly locales that celebrate the work of contemporary B.C.-based kids’ writers and illustrators, including Ashley Spires, Jeremy Tankard, and Julie Flett.
