Poet and writer Zachariah Wells takes on the Griffin Prize’s Canadian shortlist and finds it wanting in this piece for the Maisonneuve web site. Wells thinks highly of Di Brandt’s Now You Care, but has nothing but scorn for the other two nominees, Leslie Greentree’s go-go dancing for Elvis and Anne Simpson’s Loop. “This year may well represent the Prize’s worst flub yet,” he says. Coincidentally, watch for a feature on Di Brandt in the June issue of Q&Q.
