Penguin Canada and Little Brown party

Penguin Canada teamed up with Little Brown and company to fete some of the authors in town for the IFOA at a shoulder-to-shoulder party at Czehoski on Toronto’s Queen Street West. (Photos  by Teva Harrison.)

Four mystery writers from the U.K. form a common front. From left to right, Mark Billingham, author of Buried, James Robertson, author of The Testament of Gideon Mack, Robert Drewe, author of Grace, and Andrew Taylor, author of A Stain on Silence.

Anna Boyagoda, wife of Randy, helps their daughter Mira stand tall. Note Mira’s outfit, in classic Penguin orange, black and white.

Anne Green, producer of the Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival, shares a laugh with Night Watch author Sarah Waters.

Penguin publicity manager (and amateur pugilist) David Leonard splits a martini with author Marisha Pessl.

Westwood Creative Artists’ John Pearce, McClelland & Stewart’s Doug Pepper, and Penguin Canada’s David Davidar opt for something different from the evening’s signature martinis – some wine for Pearce, a mixed drink for Pepper, and a bright blue tie for Davidar.
