After eight years on the lawn of Queen’s Park, Toronto’s Word on the Street festival, which takes place Sept. 23, is literally moving back onto the street.

While Queen’s Park undergoes a major restoration, the festival site will relocate onto the surrounding roads, from University Ave. around Queen’s Park Crescent down to Wellesley Street and College. The City of Toronto has not confirmed if the tree-covered park area will be available for events after the restoration is complete.

Organizers also announced that WOTS will be the first stop for David Suzuki and Jeff Rubin’s Eco Tour and a venue for Canadian non-fiction has been added to the programming.
