Non-fiction writers to make strong showing at Toronto’s Word on the Street

Word on the Street Toronto gave a sneak peek at its 2012 lineup last week. Non-fiction writers will take centre stage at this year’s fest with Jeff Rubin, author of The End of Growth and Why Your World Is About to Get a Whole Lot Smaller, and David Suzuki kicking off their Eco Tour at WOTS on Sept. 23. Also in attendance will be Andrew Westoll, author of the Charles Taylor Prize“winning The Chimps of Fauna Sanctuary, John Ralston Saul, Gail Vaz-Oxlade, Megan Ogilvie, and CBC personalities Jian Ghomeshi and Nora Young, among other non-fiction writers.

Fiction and poetry haven’t been forgotten. David Bergen, Linwood Barclay, Heather Birrell, Giles Blunt, Stephen Heighton, Miranda Hill, Kyo Maclear, Pasha Malla, Susan Swan, Dennis Lee, Wayson Choy, Priscila Uppal will all make appearances at the street party.
