Word on the Street Toronto has revealed an early lineup for its 2013 festival. The annual event will take place at Queen’s Park Sept. 22.
This year’s headliner is Scotiabank Giller Prize-winner Joseph Boyden, whose new novel, The Orenda, will be published by Hamish Hamilton Canada in September. Bomb Girls actress Meg Tilly will discuss her life off-screen as the best-selling author of YA novel First Time (Orca Book Publishers) and A Taste of Heaven (Puffin Canada).
Poetry will also be front and centre as Giller-winner Austin Clarke presents his first poetry collection, Where the Sun Shines Best (Guernica Editions).
Non-fiction authors include MPs Olivia Chow and Charlie Angus, and cookbook author James Cunningham. The Humber School for Writers will host writing workshops with Terry Fallis and Cathy Marie Buchanan.
Children’s authors include Ruth Ohi, Julie Kraulis, Kevin Sylvester, Andrew Larsen, and Cary Fagan.
