Karl Ove Knausgard, Roxane Gay among 2014 IFOA lineup

IFOAKarl Ove Knausgård, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Nick Cutter, Roxane Gay and other Canadian and international writers have been confirmed as participants in the 35th edition of the International Festival of Authors, to be held at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre from Oct. 23 to Nov. 2.

IFOA will feature more than 60 authors in its regular programming. So far, the following writers have been confirmed:

  • Ruby Wiebe

Among the highlights of this year’s festival is a special program to mark the centenary of the First World War. “Remembering the Story: IFOA@35 Remembers the Great War” features writing about the cultural and societal changes that came about in Canada following the war. In conjunction with the theme, IFOA is also partnering with Humber College’s School of Liberal Arts and Sciences on an academic conference to be held during the last three days of the festival. Participants in the First World War–themed programming are yet to be announced.

Festival tickets go on sale in September. Bundles of 10 tickets are available for $120 through the IFOA’s flex pass, with individual tickets costing $15 to $18. Tickets for students and youth under 25 are free.
