An opening exists in our dynamic Trade marketing department. The Marketing Operations Coordinator will be responsible for numerous behind-the-scenes details for our books - we rely on this role to streamline and keep us organized. We welcome anyone with a passion for process, strategy, systems, accuracy and detail!

Work Location:

This is a hybrid position that reports to our downtown Toronto office location, with flexibility for work days at home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Metadata governance: this role is the resident expert of frontlist and backlist titles, overseeing and ensuring accuracy of all metadata details for Scholastic Canada’s trade titles
  • Digital feed management: work with internal teams to ensure data and digital images are fed to accounts and digital catalogues efficiently and accurately
  • Effectively communicate changes to bibliographic data to sales teams and accounts
  • Catalogue and order form creation and maintenance: build seasonal and themed catalogues on CataList and Book Manager, working with creative services to enhance pages for print catalogues for US, Canadian and Klutz lists
  • Maintain and curate themed catalogues and sell sheets to support key marketing and calendar moments
  • Oversee set-up and ordering of promotional items, ARCs, corrugate displays and marketing materials, working with marketing, production, and supply chain teams in Canada and the U.S.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory lists of corrugate and marketing materials; coordinate mailings, as needed
  • Liaise with and communicate effectively with all internal teams: Supply Chain, US and Canadian publishing team, Warehouse and Mailrooms, Production, and French Department
  • Participate in Sales Conference planning and execution, including PPT creation, logistics planning, prepping sales materials, title list creations, etc.
  • Actively participate in weekly Sales & Marketing Team meetings, Production meetings, and sales strategy meetings
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required

Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in the publishing industry
  • Exceptional administrative and organizational skills, with a genuine passion for process and problem-solving
  • A proven ability to work autonomously, but also a collaborative team player
  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (including PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams); Intermediate or Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
  • At ease working in (or learning to work in) various data management and organizational software tools
  • Familiarity with Booknet Canada, Book Manager and ONIX is preferred
