An exciting opportunity is available at Scholastic Canada in the Trade Division for the position of Sales Analyst, reporting to Trade Analyst & Bibliographic Data Manager.

Scholastic Canada is the country's leading publisher and distributor of children's books in both official languages. For over 60 years, Scholastic Canada has introduced young people to the joy of reading.

WORK LOCATION: This position would normally work out of our Toronto downtown office located at 604 King St. West. While staff are currently working remotely due to the pandemic, we are looking to resume in-office operations in the future.


The Sales Analyst is responsible for providing brand and license reporting to our key stakeholders in our Canadian and U.S. head offices. You will use your strong analytic and communication skills to build relationships with key internal and external partners to support all reporting and forecasting functions. Your focus will be on:

  • Forecasting and Analysis
  • POS reporting using industry sales reporting platforms
  • Trend reporting
  • Market Share and Competition Analysis
  • Establishing relationships within our Canadian and US teams
  • Developing expertise in internal reporting programs

 Key competencies for this position:

  • Strong ability to gather, analyze and present data to various stakeholders
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Advanced skill in Excel and Powerpoint) and Google Suite
  • Experience with BookNet Canada SalesData and Bookmanager platforms
  • Experience with AS400, Silvon, and Asana is an asset
  • A love of reading and personal values that are aligned with Scholastic’s Credo, including a demonstrated understanding and desire to conduct your work through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion


  • A post –secondary graduate with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in sales analytics and business reporting
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the team
  • Written and verbal French skills are an asset
