Vollmann’s Europe Central, the latest Harry Potter book, the latest collection of stories by Dave Eggers, entitled How We Are Hungry, and the new books by Elmore Leonard, Haruki Murakami, Dan Chiasson, and Joyce Carol Oates, almost the entire Man Booker shortlist, and the long-awaited, almost universally panned Gabriel Garcìa Marquez book, Memories of My Melancholy Whores.
