Debut Canadian novels are well represented on the longlist for the 2014 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
Eleven Canadian authors appear on the list, including first-time novelists Kim Thúy, Tanis Rideout, Ben Stephenson, Pasha Malla, and Gerard Collins.
This year, 152 books were nominated by libraries in 110 cities and 39 countries. The longlist will be pared down to 10 titles by a jury comprising international authors, critics, and academics, with a shortlist announced in April and the €100,000 winner revealed in June.
