Robert J. Wiersema signs with HarperCollins Canada

Victoria author (and frequent Q&Q reviewer) Robert J. Wiersema has landed at HarperCollins Canada for his next novel. Black Feathers, set to appear in 2013, is a coming-of-age story about a 16-year-old girl, Cassie, that incorporates elements of literary fiction, urban fantasy, and horror, the publisher says.

Wiersema is best known for the novels Bedtime Story (2010) and Before I Wake (2006), both published by Random House Canada. This fall, Greystone Books released his rock ‘n’ roll memoir Walk Like a Man: Coming of Age with the Music of Bruce Springsteen. He is also the author of the novella The World More Full of Weeping (ChiZine Publications).

In a press release, Wiersema’s agent, Anne McDermid, describes the author as one of Canada’s fastest rising stars.
