The nominees have been announced for the 30th annual B.C. Book Prizes, which recognize authors from the province in seven categories. This year’s Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize features an all female shortlist.
The winners will be announced at a gala in Vancouver on May 3. The recipient of the 2014 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence will be announced at a second public event, the B.C. Book Prize Soirée (to be held at a later date), where nominees will collectively receive $14,000 in cash prizes. A selection of the shortlisted authors will participate in a reading tour across the province in April.
