The University of British Columbia Library and the Pacific BookWorld News Society have revealed the shortlist for the third annual Basil Stuart-Stubbs Prize for outstanding scholarly book on British Columbia.
The finalists are as follows:
- Jean Barman, French Canadians, Fur, and Indigenous Women in the Making of the Pacific Northwest (University of British Columbia Press)
- Nancy J. Turner, Ancient Pathways, Ancestral Knowledge: Ethnohistory and the Ecological Wisdom of Indigenous Peoples of Northwestern North America (McGill-Queen’s University Press)
- Richard Beamish and Gordon Macfarlane, eds., The Sea Among Us: the Amazing Strait of Georgia (Harbour Publishing)
The winner will be announced in the spring.
